Our history

OUR HISTORY 1.jpg

Setentaynueve is a family business dedicated to the production and marketing of beehive products, formed by two brothers, Oscar and Samuel.

In 2018, we decided to turn our father's passion, who always had beehives as a hobby, into a trade to make a living from.

The objective is clear, to obtain products of excellent quality combining tradition and innovation. Always in a responsible and sustainable way with the environment and our bees. We try to value the natural and artisan, the rural world and especially honey.

Why Seventy-nine? Because it is the atomic number of gold, and that is what honey, precisely the Lavender honey that our father used to make, represents for our family.

Our environment

We are located in Tiedra (Valladolid), our town. We are in the foothills of the Montes Torozos, bordering with Tierra de Campos and the Alfoz de Toro. Our environment is dominated by farmland, mostly cereal and lavender, although there are also abundant wooded areas, mainly oak groves.

It is here in Tiedra where the hives produce lavender honey, when in July and August, the fields are dyed purple, a spectacle worth seeing!

But as Spain is a country with truly magnificent and varied landscapes and weather conditions, we decided to be transhumant beekeepers, so we move our hives looking for different blooms that are not in our immediate environment.

To taste our honeys is to savor the richness of the land, diverse landscapes and unique environments.

Who we are

Carlos: He is the soul. He is the one who taught us (and continues to teach us) the love for nature, simplicity and things well done. We would say the same about Pilar, our mother, who despite our insistence has not wanted to appear on this website.

Oscar: Restless and nonconformist. Always looking for the next step. Firm defender of the rural world and all that it means. Industrial engineer who believes that with respect to food, the less industry, the better.

Samuel: Constant and patient. Among bees almost always. He constantly investigates the nuances of the environment and flora, to pamper his bees. Forestry engineer who never stops looking for the best possible practices for nature.
